About Me

My name is Cara Ann Kelly and I am a journalis currently enrolled in American University’s Graduate School of Journalism and Public Affairs. I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and have recently moved from my hometown to Washington, DC. I attended the Honors College at Appalachian State University where I graduated cum laude with degrees in journalism and political science.

I interned with a community media group in Boone, North Carolina, before becoming a staff writer covering education and non-profit organizations. I have since worked as a freelance writer and have contributed to The Watauga Democrat, The Mountain Times, All About Women magazine, the Charleston City Paper, CrankIt magazine, The Village Idiot, and the Charleston Mercury.

      That is a good question. I have thought about it, although the papers I was contributing to are local and a little too difficult to work for from here.

    This is going to be fun. About You Tube; as an old person adapting, I still don’t get the loading process. I can’t click on a video and watch it run. The 1:30 bike messanger video stopped 6 times to load and buffer. Is everyone else’s network conntection that much better, or are they just used to letting it load first?
